Who we are

We    are    a    German-French-Portuguese    couple    and    responsible    for making your stay day to day a pleasant and unforgettable experience. Having   worked   in   tourism   for   an   extensive   period,   in   2016   we   decided to   make   reality   a   project   we   had   dreamed   of   for   a   long   time:   Merge professional   hospitality   services   with   our   desire   to   be   eco-friendly   and live a more responsible tourism. We   have   carefully   renovated   our   house,   which   dates   back   to   the   1920s, always     paying     attention     to     preserving     the     historic     structure     and atmosphere.   Therefore,   an   essential   part   of   our   design   is   the   restoration of original elements of the inventory. At   the   same   time,   we   have   used   modern   materials   to   ensure   a   pleasant and comfortable stay. We   have   our   doors   open   since   April   2018   and   can’t   wait   to   welcome you in our hostel !!!

Our philosophy

First   and   foremost,   we   want   to   be   a   cosy   and   comfortable   place   of encounter      and      exchange      between      persons      and      cultures. Furthermore,    we    try    to    be    environment-friendly    and    want    to commit ourselves to a more responsible and sustainable tourism. Neither   do   we   pretend   to   save   the   world,   nor   do   we   want   to   proselytise people   and   even   less   our   guests.   But   we   do   believe   that   each   one   of   us can   contribute   a   small   part   to   treat   our   planet   and   environment   in   a respectful and more careful way. To   achieve   this   in   our   hostel,   we   renovated   several   recovered   materials for   our   furniture,   use   solar   energy   and   installed   water   saving   devices   in the   bathrooms.   Electric   energy   consumption   is   being   reduced   through LED   bulbs   and   waste   is   separated   for   recycling   purposes.   We   designed our   “green”   patio   aiming   at   a   reduction   of   our   CO   2   footprint,   we   work with   local   suppliers   of   fresh   and   organic   food   and   we   avoid   the   use   of impacting chemical products where we can. In   addition,   we   want   to   link   with   other   projects   as   well   as   social   and sustainable   organizations,   to   create   a   network   of   collaborations   with   a common purpose.
